Character Name: Bob (Guardian 452)
Age: It's never stated, but he acts and looks like an early adult.
Canon: ReBoot
Canon point: End Prog
History: Here
Personality:
» Protective
Bob is a Guardian and he adheres to the protocol of To Mend and Defend which he states within the canon. He would much rather find ways to defeat his enemies by changing their perspective, or even their coding (in which he's done to Hex before by mending her mask). He made the choice to be a Guardian on his own and truly believes in protecting the innocent from any threat that may arise as well as protecting and defending systems, in most recent cases: Mainframe. This doesn't mean that Bob's a white knight, though. He trusts that others are capable, Dot being one of them for example, and will gladly refer to her plans knowing she's better at them. He's definitely someone who wears his heart on his sleeve and acts more with it than his brain.

» Compassionate
Bob has his moments of wit and sarcasm but at the bottom of it all he's an incredibly compassionate sprite who -- to tie in the above point -- cares even for his enemies. During a time when Megabyte, the main antagonist of the show, was in trouble, he helped him. When Bob was captured by Hexadecimal, instead of freaking out or being angry, he immediately noticed that her mask was cracked and helped mend her. He even scolds Matrix after Hex sacrifices herself to save them all, telling him to have some compassion. Bob believes that there is good in everyone and while there might be some temptation to not aid those who do wrong to others, ultimately he will often jump in to help them anyway. Strangely enough, Bob also seems to keep the company of many questionable people-- hackers, pirates, and even a virus. Perhaps it's his accepting and compassionate attitude that makes this possible.

» Idealistic
In combination with the above points, it's easy to see that Bob would be an idealist. Which he is. While the Guardian code is to Mend and Defend, there are some threats that supersede this and require either detaining or full deletion however Bob believes in reforming over nullification and stays strong that it's not the fault of the virus or malicious entity that a User made them this way even after he's lost people he cares about to Viruses. He believes in second, third, and even fourth chances. Bob has a lot of hope and a deep capacity for love and forgiveness even if he can be a bit quippy and sassy sometimes. While he might be catty toward others that are considered threats or enemies, ultimately he wants to help them or at least protect others from them instead of deleting the enemy.

» Impulsive
While experience has made Bob slightly less impulsive than he used to be when a young sprite, he can still act rash and is often seen flying by the seat of his pants, making plans up as he goes without entirely thinking things through. Dot mentions that Bob has never had a plan in his entire life during one episode where he decides to try and talk to several infected guardians. Typically this works out for him, but its a combination of impulsivity and his steadfast determination to avoid deletion that had gotten him and the system he protects in trouble. He is simply not willing to give up his morality. When it comes to impulses, Bob wears his heart on his sleeve. For example, instead of talking with his friends about an issue with Megabyte earlier on in the series, he goes about it on his own. This is also tied into naivety which, with experience, has decreased somewhat. However, he is still likely to jump into various situations when his code kicks in. Even if he briefly tells someone about it beforehand (or not).

» Adaptable
Bob is incredibly adaptable and cool-headed. He's never really seen losing his head even when on the verge of a system crash. Toward the end of the series, while Matrix was keen on entering the Game Cube as Mainframe was shutting down, Bob very calmly talked him out of it believing that the User would restart the system if it crashed and they needed to force the system overboard. This was a huge risk, essentially ending all of their lives if he was wrong but he handled it with a completely level head. When Bob gets lost in the web, he survives by hooking up with a group of degenerated sprites called the Web Riders. He learns their culture and language, adapts to the harsh surroundings of the Web, creates his own armor and yet still maintains the core of who he is throughout.

Suitability: Bob is a guardian, and once he realizes that there's no immediate way to return home he'll quickly take up arms to help out. It's in his nature, his very code and programming, to aid in maintaining the safety of people and places. Hearing that other people and places are in danger would be more than enough of a reason for him to stay and see this through. Bob does not have any experience with the supernatural but he lives in Cyberspace where creatures, programs, and various other intelligent creatures are capable of all sorts of interesting things.

Powers/Abilities: Bob has downloaded Glitch into himself which gives him access to a number of powers that he would previously have required Glitch for. Due to no longer being in Cyberspace, I have reworked some of these powers in ways that make sense in a real-world capacity.

» Technomancy
Outside of the web, Bob has a sort of technomancy that allows him to naturally understand and use various technologies whether or not he's previously come across them. He can scan their systems which ties into his desire to mend things (as he will most likely use this to 1. understand what the purpose of the tech is or 2. to repair it). He can also run diagnostics without needing to actually use the tech and speak with the technology itself. Lastly, he can call gadgets and tech to him if they're in a close enough range just as he was capable of doing with Glitch.

» Scanning Capabilities
On top of being able to scan tech to understand what is or what isn't, Bob has an ability to gather a general sense of his environment. This was, in canon, specific to Game Cubes. He can't gather everything about a situation or place, but he might be able to pick up on where there is energy or energy surges and generally anything to do with energy based things. This could be weather, such as lightening on its way, or technology based energy. Mostly, I'd love to leave this as a plot device for other players if they're interested (and he's able).

» Energy Manipulation
Bob has the ability to manipulate energy because he is... energy. This especially requires a lot of energy from him and has to be used sparingly due to his more-than-usual need to recharge (as he downloaded a Glitch that was damaged and is technically missing part of his own coding). Typically, as usual, he uses this in a defensive way. While he can create energy blasts, he's more commonly seen using energy shields. These shields are either two-dimensional like a shield and sword type situation or three-dimensional, often used for detaining and containing people or things that are dangerous.

» Mending & Repairs
As mentioned in some above points, Bob is capable of mending and repairing many a thing. Some of it is hard skill that is simply learned and he can do without any "power" per say, however, he also has a natural ability to heal and repair energy and system tears, broken or corrupt code in a program or technology, and things of this nature. When using this power he can more easily identify the problem and doesn't need to go into someone's coding but simply is able to heal and repair. Example.

» Viral Immunity
Bob has some level of viral immunity as shown in the Medusa bug that Hexadecimal unleashes on Mainframe. He was the only one left unaffected outside of Hex herself. However, this is not absolute. A virus the level of Daemon can still infect him.

» Flight
Bob has gained the ability to fly, however he does not always use this. We see in the canon him flying on his own and also using zip boards. I presume this is to preserve energy.

» Languages
Most computer and technological languages are known to him, both obsolete and current. This includes script and programming languages such as java, C++, Python, Perl, Markdown, etc. He fluently speaks binary and also Squeak which is the primary language spoken in the Web (dialup noises). It's not addressed, but its generally assumed they all speak English as their primary language. One assumes if the system has downloaded other languages, Bob would also be able to speak these. I'll leave this up to player discretion for plotting purposes if desired, however.

Entity Affinity:
» The Lonely
While Bob certainly can be independent, he's come to care for many a person and his identity is tied in with his ability to help protect people and places. Also, even though its beyond the canon point which I pull him from, when Megabyte becomes a Trogen Horse Virus and poses as Bob's backup who was unscathed from the web, Bob struggles a huge deal with it. He desperately tries to prove that he is the real Bob going so far to risk his life in order to return to the Sprite he was prior to downloading Glitch. While it's not spoken it's obvious by the extent that he goes that Bob fears being replaced and forgotten by those he loves. These are also fears that he would be capable of inflicting on others as they are the most non-violent, although he would be very reluctant for some time to do so.

Inventory: Nothing but his suit and, weirdly, Glitch. Which he requires to keep on his person in order to manifest in this world cause he's a technoghostie.
